Under the pressure of the rotating wheel, using the plasticity of the metal, the metal is processed point by point into the required hollow rotating parts.

The metal spinning process combines the characteristics of forging, extrusion, stretching, bending, ring rolling, cross rolling, and rolling when spinning parts of different shapes. According to the deformation characteristics of different blanks, it can generally be divided into There are two kinds of ordinary spinning and powerful spinning. In the spinning process, changing the shape of the blank without changing its wall thickness is called ordinary spinning; in the spinning process, changing both the shape and the wall thickness of the blank is called strong spinning. Ordinary spinning is limited to processing materials with better plasticity and thinner, and the dimensional accuracy is not easy to control, requiring the operator to have a higher technical level. Compared with normal spinning, the flange part of the blank does not shrink and deform during processing, because there is no wrinkling. The power of the spinning lathe machine is large, and it can also process materials with a large thickness. At the same time, the thickness of the workpiece is regularly thinned along the generatrix, which is easier to control.

The metal spinning process has the following advantages:

1. Metal deformation conditions are good. Spinning is because the contact between the wheel and the metal is close to point contact, so the contact area is small, and the unit pressure is high, up to 2500~3500MPa. Therefore, spinning is suitable for processing high-strength materials that are difficult to deform. , The required total deformation force is small, so that the power consumption is greatly reduced. For processing parts of the same size, the tonnage of the spinning machine is only about 1/20 of the tonnage of the press.

2. A wide range of products. According to the capacity of the spinning machine, large-diameter thin-walled pipes, special pipes, variable-section pipes can be produced, as well as spherical, hemispherical, elliptical, curved generatrix and almost all rotations with steps and varying thickness. System components, such as nose cones and shells of rockets, missiles and satellites; submarine penetration seal rings and torpedo shells, radar reflectors and searchlight shells; jet engine fairings and prime mover parts; hydraulic cylinders, compressor shells, and cylinders; Turbine shafts, nozzles, TV cones, combustion chamber cones, and bellows; drums of dryers, mixers and washing machines; shallow discs, hemispherical heads, milk tanks, and hollow thin-walled daily necessities.
