Several fundamental principles of CNC Lathe processing technology

Generally speaking, the principles of processing technology should follow the following fundamental principles:


1. The principle of one-time clamping and positioning. 

It is the basic processing feature of CNC lathe to complete the multi-process processing of the workpiece in one clamping. Therefore, when confirming the workpiece processing technology, each processing procedure should be concentrated to the greatest extent. Reduce the number of clamping times as much as possible to reduce unnecessary positioning errors and repeat the clamping process.


2. The processing principle of rough first and then fine.

In general, in order to ensure the processing quality of the workpiece, we divide the processing of the workpiece into two stages of rough machining and finishing. For workpieces with high machining accuracy, a semi-finishing stage is added. This principle should also be followed when CNC lathes are used for CNC machining. CNC lathes can quickly remove most of the machining allowance during rough machining of workpieces, reduce the number of tool passes as much as possible, and shorten the roughing time. During finishing, the precision and surface quality of the workpiece must be guaranteed first, so the workpiece should be finished continuously with one knife during general finishing.

3. The processing principle of inside first and then outside. 

When the workpiece to be processed has both inner and outer surfaces and needs to be processed, when arranging the processing sequence, the inner and outer surfaces of the workpiece should be processed first, and then the outer surface should be processed. Finally, the finishing of the inner and outer surfaces is carried out.


4. The processing principle of face first and hole later. 

As we said before, the CNC lathe is a compound processing machine tool, which can not only perform turning, but also boring. When there are both planes and holes on the workpiece to be processed, it should be carried out in the order of turning the plane first and then boring. Because the cutting force is relatively large when turning the plane, the workpiece is prone to deformation, so the surface should be turned first and then the hole should be bored to allow it to recover for a period of time. , and then bore the hole after it recovers from deformation, which is beneficial to ensure the machining accuracy of the hole.
